Are you a business operating in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) and want to improve the waste management system at your workplace? Are you opening a business and don’t know where to start when it comes to waste collection and disposal? Do you need help properly sorting the waste that your business generates? If you said yes to any of these questions, then this workshop is for you!
Join Cyndi Fraser, Waste Resource Education Officer, at Solid Waste Resources (SWR). At the end of the workshop, you will know the requirements and responsibilities of your business when it comes to collecting, sorting, and disposing of business waste. You will also learn about the resources available to help you and your business succeed with waste management in HRM.
At this session, you will learn about:
- The expectations for businesses when it comes to waste collection, sorting, and disposal, laid out in By-Law S-600
- How to source and ensure you have the proper bins to collect your business waste
- How to set up private waste collection
- Where to get proper waste signage and sorting information
- How to properly sort your business waste here in HRM (What Goes Where)
To attend this session, you must:
- Be an ISANS business client
- Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 5+
